The Classes
These are intensive introductory classes, carefully designed to enable participants to gain the requisite skills in Sam Pickard's Textile studio. If you are serious about adding new skills to your portfolio, or perhaps want to explore the possibility of a career change, then these courses are for you. Our focus is on individual learning therefore we deliberately limit the number of places on each course to four (Photoshop) or five (Screen-Printing), so that there is more than enough space for you to develop your own creative aspiration. It is advisable to book early to avoid disappointment.
Class: Screen-Printing Masterclass Workshop
Tutor: Sam Pickard
Venue: Sam's studio, South Molton, Devon (A beautiful Market town on the edge of Exmoor)
Course Description: This 2 day Masterclass Workshop covers the translation of your drawings onto acetate, colour separations, coating and exposing silk screens and experimental screen-printing using mainly pigment dyes and speciality finishes. You will be experimenting using furnishing cottons and linen to print your own cushions or develop your own textile products if you wish. Please email Sam if you wish to propose your own project so that we can discuss this before you book the course. The exceptionally small group size will ensure you can fully explore your creativity and get the full benefit of Sam's considerable skill set. It is helpful if you have some drawing design ability, but not essential.
When you book any of these classes. you will be sent further details including any specific requirements needed for the course. We will also include recommendations for possible accommodation. The essential equipment and materials are included in the price of the course.
